Tonight at the Brooklyn Museum’s annual Brooklyn Ball, food artist/caterer Jennifer Rubell presents “Icons,” a “once-in-a-lifetime, participatory food journey through the Brooklyn Museum as inspired by some of the greatest icons of contemporary art.”
A hybrid of “participatory performance art, happening, and dinner gala,” the event will feature interactive-food installations including suspended human head-shaped cheese sculptures surrounded by heat bulbs (causing them to drip onto a pedestal of crackers below), a main course that features rabbits, pigs, turkeys and legs of beef to be “self-carved by guests,” and a 20-foot tall piñata of Andy Warhol’s head filled with a secret “dessert surprise.” (Via Eater)
