Hey all you writerly creatures: Have you always wanted to write a novel, but the length is daunting and you’re not sure you can sustain that twenty-something-coming-of-age-story-slash- fictionalized-memoir for a full 50,000 words? No sweat! In honor of National Novel Writing Month, Evolve Journal is looking for approximately 50 writers to contribute to a collaborative novel they’re putting together and frankly, the project sounds pretty awesome to me. The deal is Evolve aims to embark on a 30-day writing marathon that will eventually yield a full-fledged novel. They are currently accepting concept submissions. In their own words:
“Our goal is to get 50 writers together to write this novel so that each writer only has to write 1,000 words for us to reach our minimum length. That is only 250 words a week! From the number of tweets I read by Evolve readers and writers I’m sure you have 250 words a week to spare from our own writing projects.”
It’s not quite up and running yet, but soon there will be a sign-up sheet so writers, keep this on your radar!
