I may have heard once or twice that there was a film version of Norman Mailer’s 1948 novel, but I forgot — just like most of the world seems to have done.

Searching for the 1958 adaptation of the film on Netflix brings up nothing, and on Amazon, you can get it on DVD if you don’t mind it in non-USA format.  Your best bet to see the film is buying the VHS copy, assuming you’ve still got a VCR.
