Even before she donned her leather jumpsuit in the early 70s, Suzi Quatro was trailblazing rock n’ roll in the all-girl band, The Pleasure Seekers. Their 1965 song, “What a Way to Die,” is Midwestern teenage garage rock at its absolute finest, complete with what is possibly the best shout out to Schlitz beer ever in a rock song.
Then in the early 70s, Suzi would go on to record a string of glammy, proto-punk songs that would be a direct influence on Joan Jett and The Runaways, as well as a recurring role on Happy Days as Leather Tuscadero.
