William Willett was born on this day in 1856. The man who built houses in London and Chelsea that were “Willett built” was also the strongest advocate of British Summer Time, or as we so boringly call it now, Daylight Savings Time.
I know thanks to Google Analytics, that many of us are American. But I propose this: is there any possibility of us dropping the technical term, and return it to the way William Willett would have wanted it? It’s so much more quaint, and makes me actually want to enjoy “springing ahead.”
Think about it. We’ve got about seven months to decide.
