A short list of the things that Mike McGonigal (who Tobias talked to back in February) has done/does includes putting out a Luc Sante essay collection, being the brains behind Yeti Magazine, and the person who is most likely to turn you on to vintage gospel music from the 60s-early 80s. The first time he did this was with the compilation Fire in My Bones : Raw + Rare + Otherworldly African-American Gospel, 1944-2007, and now he’s back with the followup album, This May Be My Last Time Singing : Raw African-American Gospel on 45RPM (Tompkins Square), out on September 20th.
