The Los Angeles band Wounded Lion sound like descendants of both angsty proto and post art punk legends like the Electric Eels or Urinals, and also share a drummer with Thee Oh Sees.  Their sound isn’t very different from many of the bands who they share roster space with on the In The Red record label, but I can’t stop thinking that they also remind me of Cheap Trick; not so much in sound or appearance, but rather in the sense that you don’t know if you’re in on the joke, or if the joke is on you.
