In the Dallas-Fort Worth airport bookstore I hold up Dave’s book, show his picture to my six-year-old daughter. “This is mommy’s new boyfriend,” I tell her. She glances momentarily at the picture but doesn’t say anything. She is clearly not impressed. “Isn’t he cute?” I say. “Look at his hair. Isn’t that cute hair?”
