David Berman no longer has his beard. Tablet discussed his talk in New York last night. Bearded for years, Berman arrived at the reading clean-shaven, with a powder-blue suit jacket and cropped hair salted gray.
I promised myself I’d make no mention of his former band (Silver Jews) so I won’t. I will only say that the Leonard Cohen of our generation is going to be in New York this Sunday for a reading and discussion at the NYU Lillian Vernon Creative Writers House, 58 West 10th Street (btw 5th & 6th). It’s probably the best fifteen bucks you’ll spend.
