“Witch house” (also known as “rape gaze”) is a crappy name for a genre made up by blogs to cover up for an otherwise boring year for music.  The thing is that I don’t really hate the music — just the pathetic attempt to categorize everything.

I think //Tense// is part of this genre.  I’m sure if you asked Robert Lane, the guy behind the moniker, he’d probably say otherwise.  But whatever the case, he covered Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain,” and made it sound like something off Wax Trax.

I can totally appreciate that.
