We were huge admirers of Zero Saints, the most recent novel from frequent Vol.1 Brooklyn contributor Gabino Iglesias. In telling a taut, violent, surreal tale, Iglesias pushed at the boundaries of crime fiction, all the while making use of a distinctive narrative voice and telling a compelling story along the way. The end of this month will bring his followup, Coyote Songs, also on Broken River Books. The cover was designed by Matthew Revert; Iglesias is currently curating a selection of uncanny work at Heavy Feather Review, which we highly recommend checking out.
