My current favorite thing to read is: Peter Ganick’s Splintered, a sprawling, nearly thousand-page-long poem that is beautifully cerebral and meditative and part of the reason why I’ve read so few books so far this year. I’ve also been enjoying the work of Keith Stack, who publishes on Twitter a very funny daily webcomic about a lesbian couple who live in a disgusting apartment.

My current favorite things to watch are: Grand Theft Auto speed-runs on YouTube and old VHS tapes of TV programming (mostly Adult Swim, MTV2, and VH1) recorded between 2004 and 2007 on my recently acquired VCR.

My current favorite thing to listen to is: female-led country pop—namely Kacey Musgraves and The Chicks. I’ve also been listening to a lot of jazz this summer—Sun Ra, Andrew Hill, Cannonball Adderley, Chick Corea, et al.

My current state of mind is: anxious about not accomplishing as much as I want/need to accomplish, angered by the ever-present onslaught of fascism in the United States, grateful for my partner and my friends and all of the good people in my life.

My current chemical romance involves: blue spirulina, AKA blue-green algae, which is supposed to be a superfood and an effective appetite suppressant and a promoter of good hair and skin health, but I’ve just started taking it, so results remain to be seen.

My current words of wisdom are: …read Amy Hempel.

My current mode of transportation is:  a bright-green 2010 Hyundai Accent.

My current favorite fast food item is: the Fiesta Veggie Burrito from Taco Bell; it may be my favorite Taco Bell menu item of all time.

My current workout routine consists of: trying to walk 2 or 3 miles a day, usually from my apartment to a nearby coffee shop or convenience store and back so that the walk feels less like exercise for the sake of exercise and more like a trip with a specific destination, even if I don’t buy anything from that destination, which I typically don’t.

My current regrettable decision involves: not always keeping up with my daily workout routine, always staying up way too late, not reading enough, not maintaining a healthy diet, etc, etc, etc.

My current hopes and dreams are:  to find a more sustainable source of income, to live in a country governed by people who do not wish to hunt transgender people for sport, to keep writing poetry even if nobody reads it, to better my life and the lives of my loved ones as much as possible.

My current hobbies include: writing poems here and there, making music here and there, getting back into meditation, loving my partner, solving the daily Wordle, trying to stay afloat.
