Currents, an Interview Series with Brian Alan Ellis (Episode 76: Max Booth III)

Max Booth III

MAX BOOTH III is the head ghoul at Ghoulish Books, the host of the GHOULISH podcast, and the author of Maggots Screaming!

My current favorite things to read are: emails from terrible people in the publishing industry I’ve been cursed to work with for some reason. I read them out loud to friends or screenshot for group chats and we dunk on these fucking bozos all day long. Truly a reason to wake up in the morning.

My current favorite thing to watch is: YouTube breakdowns of bizarre baseball plays. Players telling umpires they’re terrible at their jobs. Managers screaming HORSESHIT. Hell yes.

My current favorite thing to listen to is: my dogs going ballistic on this rubber chicken we bought a couple weeks ago. I swear to god the longer I listen the more it sounds like real music they’re playing for us.

My current state of mind is: frantic, stressed, manic… I’m typing these answers a couple days before the Ghoulish Book Festival, which is a spooky fest my wife and I are organizing in San Antonio. I regret every decision that led to this event happening.

My current chemical romance involves: taking on too many projects at once and then pulling my hair as I freak the fuck out about everything. Also, fast food.

My current words of wisdom are: never do anything. Watch TV. Go for a walk. Play with your dog. Work is for idiots. Don’t do it.

My current mode of transportation is: a red Hyundai Kona.

My current favorite fast food item is: breakfast tacos, preferably with eggs, potatoes, cheese, and green salsa.

My current workout routine consists of: walking my dogs.

My current regrettable decision involves: definitely the book fest. LMAO what the fuck were we thinking??

My current hopes and dreams involve: sleeping for three days straight without having to answer an email.

My current hobbies include: hanging out with my dogs.
